Polling stations in Kohima relocated: The DEO of Kohima has informed general public of the change made in the polling stations under Kohima district.
Under 9th Kohima Town assembly constituency - PS-1 D Block (upper) relocated to Deputy Commissioner of Taxes office; PS-22 Paramedical (lower) relocated to GMS Merhulietsa; PS-24 Agri Farm Colony relocated to DAO (Agri) office; PS-29 AG Colony (upper-1) relocated to Directorate of Veterinary office; PS-32 AG Colony (lower-II) relocated to Directorate of Municipal Affairs.
Under 10th Northern Angami-I assembly constituency – PS-2 Peraciezie relocated to SIEMAT building, SCERT office.
Under 12th Tseminyu AC – PS-9 Tesophenyu (lower- I) relocated to Old GPS; PS-44 Tesophenyu (upper) new polling station, located at Council Hall.
Under 14th Southern Angami - I assembly constituency - new polling stations, PS-19 Jakhama (lower-II) located at Ze-Naki (community hall) and PS-20 Jakhama town-II located at GHS Jakhama.
Under 15th Southern Angami-II assembly constituency, new polling station, PS-24 Viswema (Z-Khel) located at Yoho Kita (Z-Khel Panchayat building).
The district election officer (DEO) of Kohima has directed head of department, officers and drivers under Kohima district whose office / attached vehicles have been requisitioned for election duty to report to the local ground, Kohima on Feb. 19 at 10 am. Vehicles in good condition along with driver are asked to report as directed. Action will be initiated as per provision of law for non-compliance of the order against erring officers and drivers, the notification stated.
Also DEO Longleng, John Tsulise Sangtam has directed all requisitioned vehicles to report to the local ground, Longleng on Feb. 14 at 10 am to check the road useable condition of the requisitioned vehicles. Failing to comply with the order shall invite necessary action as per section 167 of the Peoples’ Representative Act of 1951, it informed.
Training on webcasting in Longleng
The DEO of Longleng has informed to boot level officers (nodal officers to operate webcasting and offline videograpy) and the presiding officers of 49th and 50th assembly constituencies that training on webcasting and offline videography will be conducted on Feb. 16 at GHSS Longleng. All in concern have been directed to attend the training programme.
Training for Dmr. polling officials
The DEO of Dimapur has informed that the 2nd round of training for polling personnel appointed for election duty of Dimapur district has been scheduled on Feb. 16 and 17th at Dimapur College.
On Feb. 16 training for presiding officers and 1st polling officers will commenced from 12 noon to 2:30 pm while training for 4th polling officers (VVPAT) from 3 to 4pm.
For presiding officers and 1st polling officers on Feb. 17 will begin from 12 noon to 2 pm. There will be group familiarization from 2 pm for all the polling officers including grade IV staff.
DEO also notified that postal ballot will be issued on Feb. 16 and 17th at the training venue to voters enrolled under Dimapur district.
Also DEO Tuensang has informed that the 2nd round of training for 1st polling officers from serial no. 1 to 125 will be held on Feb. 15 and serial no. 126 to 310 on Feb. 16; 2nd, 3rd and 4th polling officers will be conducted on Feb. 17. The training will be conducted a GHSS at 10 am.
It also informed that names of polling personnel have been displayed at the deputy commissioner’s office.
The 2nd phase training polling officials of Phek district has been scheduled from Feb. 16 and 19th at 10 am at Government Higher Secondary School in Phek. Training for presiding officer and 1st polling officers will be conducted on Feb. 16; 2nd and 3rd polling officers on Feb. 17; and 4th polling officers on Feb. 19.
The 2nd phase of training for polling officials of Mokokchung will be held on Feb. 15 and 16th at Mayangnokcha Government Higher Secondary School in Mokokchung.
On Feb. 15 training will be conducted for 2nd, 3rd and 4th polling officers from 9:30 am and on Feb. 16 for presiding officers and 1st polling officers.
Mon: Public told to report objectionable SMSs
The DEO of Mon has appealed general public to forward objectionable messages on Short Message Service / WhatsApp / telegram messengers that are possibly transmitted by persons with vested interests in elections, violating the provisions of election laws and Model Code of Conduct as well as the directives of the Election Commission of India on prevention of misuse of SMSs to 9862884498 / 7005766737. This would help initiate formal enquiry and appropriate action under various provisions of law, DEO ifnromed.
Dmr. facilitation centre for postal ballot from Feb. 16
The DEO of Dimapur has informed that a facilitation centre for casting postal ballot shall be opened at Dimapur Government College, near DC Court junction in Dimapur from 3 pm onwards on Feb. 16 and 17th for voters of Dimapur district.
Similar facilitation centres shall be set up for voters of other district after receiving ballot papers from their respective districts / constituencies, it informed.
For the stated reason, political parties / contesting candidates are requested to send their agents so as to ensure a free, fair and transparent casting of ballot papers.
Dimapur-III’s RO notifies on obtaining permits
The returning officer (RO) of 3 Dimapur-III assembly constituency, Sara S Jamir has notified candidates of the mentioned constituency that the following permits has to be taken from the RO.
Permission to hold meeting and use of loudspeaker; opening of temporary office; use of vehicle; procession and use of loudspeaker; for strict corner meeting and use of loudspeaker; and for construction of rostrum and barricade.
Candidates or agents are required to apply to the RO at least 48 hours prior to the proposed time of programme along with all required documents / NOCs and others. Candidates may also apply at http/www.ceonagaland.nic.in (survidha go section), it informed.
Randomisation of EVMs
The DEO of Kohima has informed that the first level checking and 1st randomization of EVMs and VVPATs will be held at deputy commissioner’s conference hall in Kohima on Feb. 15 at 11 am, while the 2nd randomization and preparation will be held on Feb. 16.
Representatives of political parties have been asked to be present for the same. Contesting candidates are also requested to send their representatives to witness the same.
Also the DEO of Tuensang has informed all returning officers (RO), master trainers, political parties, and candidates of Tuensang district that the 2nd randomization of EVMs/VVPATs will be held on Feb. 16 at 10:30 am at DC’s conference hall. Further preparation and commissioning of machines will commence the same day after the conclusion of 2nd randomization.
Returning officers are requested to inform candidates in writing to be present or send their authorized representatives. Political parties have also been requested to send two or three representatives each.
