Dimapur, October 30 : The United Sangtam Students’ Conference (USSC) has given the department of School Education 15 day to fulfil their demand for the creation of a subdivision education officer’s establishment for Longkhim. The group issued a press release on Sunday. “The USSC caution the department concern to take cognizance of its demand and should not take for a ride anymore,” the organization stated. The group criticized the government for “its attitude to its demand”: the department had approved their demand and proposal on the 14th of November 2014. The organization had submitted memorandums to the minister of School Education and the chief minister last year over the issue, the USSC said. It also alleged that “on the directive of the director of School Education it had arranged temporary building for SDEO office at Longkhim as it was not possible to construct new building immediately at that time.” As creating a post was “difficult,” the USSC said, the government had assured to arrange teachers under Longkhim-Chare as SDEO staffers for a time being. For this, the USSC had been paying rent regularly for the last two years for said office, the group stated. The USSC has warned of an own course of action if the government fails to respond “positively and if any untoward incidence occurs, the government shall be solely responsible.”
