DIMAPUR — A petition filed in Delhi High Court seeking the derecognition of Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) was reportedly dismissed on October 8, following the demise of the petitioner.

According to reliable sources, the court was informed of the death of the petitioner, Zeneisiile Ate Loucii, and presented with the death certificate during Tuesday’s hearing.

Counsel representing the NDPP reportedly submitted that, in view of the petitioner’s death, the case could not proceed as there was no surviving party to pursue it.

Counsel for the petitioner indicated that the matter would not be pressed further.

The court accordingly disposed of the case. Meanwhile, the formal order is yet to be uploaded on the Delhi High Court website.
