Mokokchung, September 22: Defending champions Adventure Club Changtongya on Thursday lost its chance to defend their title after they were thrashed by Sporting Club Mongkolemba in the quarter final at the ongoing 11th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2016 at Multipurpose Sports, Mokokchung.
Sporting Club swept away the defending champions by securing 25-22; 25-22; 25-16 in straight sets and entered the semi finals.
Longsa Sports Association also beat Volleyball for Peace Nagaland by securing 27-25; 25-19;23-25;25-18 victory to secure its spot in the semis.Friends United Chakpa also had a tough match with new entrant Kumlong Sporting Association. The novice Kumlong Sporting Association put up a strong resistance and secured the first set. However, Friends United Chakpa exhibited their experience on court and secured the remaining sets. They won by 26-28; 25-12;25-23;26-24 victory.
In the last quarter final match Lakhuni Sporting Club ‘B’ beat Lakhuni Sporting Club ‘A’ by 25-13; 25-22; 25-12 victory. They will be facing Sporting Club Mongkolemba in the semi final.
The closing programme will be graced by the minister of National Highway & Mechanical Engineering and Election , Nuklutoshi as the chief Guest on September 23 evening.
