Dedication prog. for candidates held in Wokha

(EM Images)[/caption] Wokha, Feb. 9 (EMN): A prayer service for 18 candidates from Wokha who are contesting in the assembly elections was conducted at Vankhosung, near Wokha town on Feb. 9. The programme a collaboration of the Lotha Hoho, Lotha Baptist Ekhumkho Sannrhyutsu (LBES), and the Wokha District Village Council Chairmen Association (WDVCCA). The need for ethical and peaceful election was the focus of address by officials from the LBES, Lotha Hoho, Lotha Youth Hoho (LYH), WDVCCA, Lotha Eloe Hoho (LEH) and the Lotha Students’ Union (LSU) during the occasion. Candidates from the 37th Tyui assembly constituency (AC) Y Patton, Yankithung, Chopathung Odyuo, Thungchamo; from the 38th Wokha assembly constituency namely Dr. TM Lotha, Dr. Chumben Murry, and YM Humtsoe; from the 39th Sanis assembly constituency namely Sulanthung Humtsoe, Ralanthung Yanthan, Ramongo, Mhathung Yanthan, and Senkathung; and from the 40th Bhandari assembly constituency namely Mhonjan Lotha and Achumbemo attended the programme. Out of 18 candidates from the four assembly constituencies, 14 attended the prayer programme. The candidates were given time to speak about their vision and goals. An individual Mhonjan Lotha appealed to the congregation to desist from any illegal means during the elections. He called upon the candidates to exercises the principle as well as preventing their supporters from tarnishing their names. Rev. Nyanchumo Lotha, executive secretary of the LBES, prayed for God’s blessing upon the candidates and urged them to practice peace and ethical elections. The chairman of Lotha Hoho, Mhao Humtsoe, presided over the programme. Rev. T Ngullie of AG Church at Wokha said the invocation; the vote of thanks by Mhondamo Ovung, secretary of the Lotha Hoho.
