Imphal, March 9 (EMN): Kin of an army who reportedly died while staying inside their camp in Leimakhong near Imphal demanded justice into the circumstances leading to the death of man.
The family refuted the report of suicide by authority over the death of Naik Yangmi Muiwo (32) of 165 territorial army. Yangmi passed away on January 18.
Yangmi is the son of Diamond Muiwo of Halang village in Manipur’s Ukhrul district.
Speaking to media persons in Imphal on March 9, the wife of the deceased army man expressed suspicion over the January 18 incident at leimakhong army camp.
Expressing her disappointment over the negligence of the authorities over the incident, mother of a three-year old boy said that the family wants justice. Despite the claim that her husband died of suicide, the post mortem report of the deceased says it is a case of homicide, a family member said.
Family members had lodged an FIR at Saparmeina police station on January 19 to find out the truth on the suspicious death of Lance Naik Yangmi Muyo but till date no positive action or response has been made, sources said.
Since the case on the suspicious death of Lance Naik Yangmi Muyo remains neglected, family members has appealed the state government and concerned authorities to look into the matter so that justice can be delivered at the earliest.
