
DIMAPUR — To ensure readiness and review emergency preparedness, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Mon, in collaboration with NSDMA, HG, CD and SDRF, conducted a mock drill exercise in Tizit on Tuesday.
The exercise was conducted simulating an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.7 on the Richter scale. The staging area was set up at GHSS, Tizit and TASU Office, with ADC of Tizit as the responsible officer and SDO (Civil) as incident commander, a DIPR report stated.
The mock exercise started with an information regarding occurrence of a hypothetical earthquake through siren alert.
The incident commander briefed the participants on response operation and also thanked everyone for the success of the drill.
Government officials, Tizit Area Students’ Union (TASU) and Tizit Town Students Union (TTSU) performed as community first responders and volunteers, it added.
