Dimapur, Jan. 22 (EMN): The Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) organised a seminar at the Chungaizaeng Rongmei Community Hall at Burma Camp on Jan. 19. The seminar was a collaboration with the National Domestic Workers Movement, it was informed.
Summing up the programme, Chief Judicial Magistrate and secretary DDLSA Ajongba Imchen stressed on the need to come up with Nagaland Domestic Workers Act.
Informing that legal services authority is for the marginalized section of the society, he assured the domestic workers that the authority will provide assistance and protection to safeguard their rights.
Imchen urged not to withdraw complaints while under pressure but to seek the help of the legal services authority. He asked the workers not to let anyone deprive them of their rights.
Panel lawyers Kekhriele Mezhü, Moatila Ao and Yambemo Ngullie spoke on Women Rights and Domestic Violence, Consumer Rights and NSLSA scheme.
Panel Lawyer Nishela highlighted about the legal services.
Around 130 domestic workers attended the programme.
