DIMAPUR — The Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) organised a legal awareness programme at Chungaizaeng Rongmei Colony, Dimapur, to observe World Consumer Rights Day on Saturday.
The programme was chaired by PLV Makuran Rongmei and featured panel lawyers Sangto Longchar and Khumchuba as resource persons, stated a press release.
Longchar delivered a session on the functioning of the district legal services authorities and basic legal rights. He covered important legal aspects such as FIR procedures, bail, victim compensation, and Lok Adalat.
Khumchuba spoke on consumer rights, complaint mechanisms, and redressal, emphasising the significance of the Consumer Protection Act and the importance of World Consumer Rights Day.
The awareness programme aimed to empower citizens with knowledge of their legal and consumer rights, ensuring better access to justice for all.
It concluded with a pledge to uphold consumer rights and spread awareness within the community. DDLSA reaffirmed its commitment to providing legal aid and ensuring that every citizen, regardless of socio-economic background, has access to justice.
