Dimapur, May 15 (EMN): Dimapur Changki Theological Union (DCTU), in partnership with Impact Ministry, organised a camp for children of Khakhati area churches on May 14 at Gorkha Baptist Church in Khatkhati on the theme “Like a tree planted by the water” (Psalm 1:3).
An update from Impact Ministry stated that a team of 10 volunteers from DCTU and Impact Ministry rendered their services for the camp with Akum Amri as the camp director. The resource persons were Bendangla Longkumer, Imtisunep and Akum Ao.
It stated that the children were offered themed activities, games, dances and ideas to entertain them and help them learn about God and His love during the camp.
“It was a great day and I learned so many things from my teachers. I also learned about how God loves children and how important it is for me to read God’s word to please Him. I enjoyed the song ‘My name is so and so,’ clay drawing and bottle game,” said Tuni from the United Christian Prayer Fellowship, Lahorijan, after the camp.
Speaking at the closing service, Akum Amri said, “A child whom God loves is like a strong tree planted by the water. Imagine a great and beautiful tree covered in green leaves. God delights in us when we read His word. God wants us to be like that strong tree by the flowing stream of water. There is a lot of life there.”
Meanwhile, Robin Mech from Gorkha Baptist Church has thanked the organisers for conducting the children camp. He mentioned that the children of Khatkhati area churches came to the camp as ‘empty vessels’ and went home with God’s ‘wisdom’ and ‘blessings.’
Report further stated that about 80 children from the neighboring churches in the Khatkhati area attended the camp.
