Dimapur, Dec. 14: The Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has expressed dismay over the bandh called in Dimapur at the peak of the festive season.
“During this time of the year, people from all over the state as well as from neighbouring states flock Dimapur to do their festive season shopping and closure of shop is a great spirit dampener to festive revellers and paints a bad image of our city,” DCCI president Hokivi Chishi said in a release on Wednesday. The DCCI, therefore, appealed to all organisations concerned to kindly take note of such issues before calling for closure no matter what the issue may be. It also appealed to the State Government to break the deadlock between the civil society organisations and the law enforcing agencies with regard to the alleged PDS scam. It further requested that the arrested ACAUT members be released for normalcy to prevail during the festive season.
The DCCI hoped that goodwill and mutual cooperation prevails between the civil societies and the State Government so that a proper and impartial investigation can be carried out at the earliest to establish the facts.
