Dimapur, Jan. 12: Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, Wezope Kenye reminded all officers in the district to remain in station till the process of elections to Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) are completed. In this regard, he directed all Head of Offices to ensure all employees remain in station and perform their assigned duties adding no employee deputed for election duty will be exempted except on medical ground.
The DC informed this at the monthly meeting of the Wokha District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) on January 9 in his office conference hall. While welcoming the members at the first DPDB meeting of the year, the DC said the forthcoming town council elections will be unlike in the past as there have been differences of opinion for conduct of the elections. He, however, reminded the officers to gear up and be ready in their respective place of posting.
Apprising the members regarding the conduct of Wokha Town Council election, Returning Officer & ADC Wokha, Hotolu Swu, informed that all preparation work for the elections are in full progress. Distribution of appointment order for the polling personnel was also done during the meeting.
Informing that training of polling personnel will be conducted soon, he urged all employees involved to attend the training positively.
All Head of Offices, who have not submitted the details of vehicles (type of vehicle, name of driver and registration number), are requested to submit the same at the earliest.
Distribution of specific work to different departments for the forthcoming Republic Day celebration was also done.
Deputy Commissioner requested all officers to ensure attendance of all officers and staff at the Republic Day celebration. He also warned that action will be initiated against the absentees.
Meanwhile, the house resolved to conduct a mass social work on January 21 in view of the Republic Day celebration.
