DC Peren appeals to conserve Amur Falcon

Dimapur, November 7: Deputy Commissioner and vice chairman of Peren District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Zarenthung Ezung has appealed the Board members to sensitise the public on the importance of conserving Amur Falcon to ensure their safe return from Siberia in the following years. Addressing the Board members in its meeting on November 7, the DC informed that a satellite tagged Amur falcon named ‘Intangki’ was released by the Chief Minister TR Zeliang on November 4 at Beisumpuikam. Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr. Meren made a power point presentation on District Health Unit under Peren district where he mentioned that there is only one district hospital, one Community Health Centres (CHCs), eight Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and sixteen sub-centres in the district. He said District Hospital Peren has 50 beds for in-patients with around 3307 OPD cases reported during the last 6 months (April to September) Sericulture and Horticulture presented their departmental activities while the department of PHE, DIC and Soil have been asked to present their department activities in the next meeting. The chairman also welcomed newly posted officers namely DPO of Land Resources Puthuto Natso; Imliwapang Imchen, GM, DIC; and R Mhonlumi Yanthan, Vice Principal GHSS, Peren.
