Dimapur, Nov. 21 (EMN): The district administration of Dimapur has directed the Dimapur Municipal Council to set up price charts in public areas detailing prices of essential commodities.
The government publicity agency the department of Information and Public Relations (IPR) gave updates on November 21 informing about the notice.
Deputy Commissioner Anoop Kinchi convened a joint meeting of district establishments on November 21 in the conference hall of his office in Dimapur. The meeting had departments including Excise, Forest, and the DMC, besides community and business groups such as the Naga Council’s public action committee, Business Association of Nagaland, and the Dimapur Chamber of Commerce, among others.
They discussed issues pertaining to “taxation” and the increase in prices of essential commodities, the IPR stated. Kinchi directed the DMC to compulsorily display charts in public places showing the ‘rates of essential commodities’.
During the meeting, Police Commissioner Rothihu Tetseo sought cooperation and urged for working together as citizens of Dimapur.
Also, the community groups at the meeting ‘expressed gratefulness’ to the district’s administration for coming up with a price monitoring committee, the updates stated. They expressed optimism that it would be implemented with ‘strong determination’ and ‘strict order,’ the IPR stated.
