DC Mokokchung asks DDMA to be on alert

Dimapur, November 7: Deputy Commissioner and Vice Chairman of Mokokchung District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), Sushil Kumar Patel, has asked the District Disaster Management Agency (DDMA) members to be vigilant and keep their mobiles on as the district has been experiencing incessant cyclonic rain for a couple of days. Addressing the monthly DPDB meeting on November 7 in the conference hall of ADC’s (Planning), appealed the members to be alert and active and to inform him immediately for quick response from the district administration. He appreciated the response made by DDMA and DPDB members on May 1, 2016, when cyclonic storm struck Mokokchung district. The DC also asked the officials of National Highways and Roads & Bridges Departments to update on the road condition in the district and urged them to keep the vehicular movement undisturbed by maintaining the roads. During discussion on Land Use Policy, the DC asked all Heads of Departments in the district to make regular visits to the villages in order to educate the villagers on the said policy. A verification committee for Local Area Development Fund was also constituted in the meeting. The DC also informed the members that the next DPDB cum advent Christmas will be held on December 7.
