DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Mokokchung, Thsuvisie Phoji, has outlined activities and a timeline for all concerned regarding the programme of the special summary revision (SSR) of the photo electoral roll, with reference to January 1, 2025, as the qualifying date.
Informing about the rationalisation of polling stations, he mentioned activities that will be conducted between August 20, 2024, and October 18, 2024, according to a DIPR report.
The activities include verification through BLOs; rationalisation and re-arrangement of polling stations; removal of discrepancies in the electoral roll and EPIC; improvement of image quality by replacing blurred, poor-quality, unspecified, or non-human images in the roll; recasting and finalisation of section/part boundaries and polling station locations; identification of gaps and finalisation of strategies to address them; and updating the control table.
Preparation of formats 1 to 8 and the integrated draft roll, with reference to January 1, 2025, as the qualifying date, will be completed between October 19, 2024, and October 28, 2024.
Further revision activities include the publication of the integrated draft electoral roll on October 29, 2024, the period for filing claims and objections from October 20, 2024, to November 28, 2024, and special campaign dates on Saturdays and Sundays within the claims and objections period (to be fixed by the CEO). The disposal of claims and objections will be completed by December 24, 2024, followed by the checking of health parameters and obtaining the commission's permission for final publication, updating the database, and printing of supplements by January 1, 2025.
The final publication of the electoral roll is scheduled for January 6, 2025. All BLOs, supervisors, and AEROs under Mokokchung District have been requested to adhere to the schedule as directed by the Commission.
