Dimapur, March 22 (EMN): In pursuance to the letter received from the office of the chief secretary and as a precautionary measure to prevent and control the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) in Kohima district, deputy commissioner, Kohima, has issued directives for strict compliances.
In an order, DC Kohima Gregory Thejawelie has directed the immediate closure of all the shops located in crowded areas which offer no scope for enforcing satisfactory distancing. The areas included BOC market and Mao market, Supermarket (vegetable market), bazaar along the footpath behind the local ground, Razhu point market and evening bazaar, High school junction market, Miachieolhithochu Peraciezie, all footpath vendors, all second-hand shops in Kohima, all night bazaar and weekly market, market at Mohonkhola, TCP Gate area and Tinpati.
It, however, stated that shops/outlets dealing with food grains, vegetables, food items, medicines and other essential items and goods would be exempt from the purview of the order.
All fast food stalls, hotels and restaurants, dhabas, eateries etc are also directed for closure. It added that any such outlets might keep its kitchen open if it plans on home delivery or takeaways, provided all health safety measures are followed.
All malls, departmental stores, gyms, beauty parlours, salons/ barbershops and all such establishments are directed for closure.
The entry of public into any bank, financial institutions are restricted unless for very essential and emergency activities like the passing of government bills and payment of user charges and fees, withdrawal of cash for urgent purposes and other such needs. It expected that all banks would adhere to the health advisories on prevention and spread of Covid-19.
The order further stated that the directives would come into force with immediate effect till further orders.
