Dimapur, Nov. 20 (EMN): Kohima’s Deputy Commissioner Gregory Thejawelie has directed the public to remove within seven days all construction/ building materials, stones, logs, timbers, off-road vehicles etc lying along roads and highway causing obstruction to traffic and pedestrian.
The administration warned that the obstructions would be removed, confiscated and disposed-off as deemed fit. Offenders will be penalised after expiry of the stipulated period, the authorities stated.
He stated that ‘off-road’ vehicles would be towed away by the police at the cost of the owners.
Meanwhile, in pursuance to the directive of the deputy commissioner, Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has directed all concerned under Kohima municipality to removed all construction and building materials/ off-road vehicles, unused pipelines and hanging water cables pipelines lying along the highways and roadside immediately as it is causing immense obstructions to free flow of traffic and pedestrians.
KMC administrator Kovi Meyase cautioned that the council would confiscate and disposed off as deemed fit and also penalised the defaulters for failing to remove the same. It added that off-road vehicles would be towed away by the police at the cost of the owners.
