DC Kohima B Henok Buchem asked supervisors to master ECI guidelines for the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll.
DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer of Kohima B Henok Buchem has called upon supervisors undergoing training for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll to thoroughly understand the guidelines and procedures of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure a smooth and credible revision process.
Addressing the training programme at the DC's conference hall in Kohima on Tuesday, Buchem stressed that the primary objective of the SIR exercise is to include all eligible voters and exclude all ineligible persons from the electoral roll, according to an official report.
According to a DIPR report, he cautioned that the ECI closely monitors the exercise for any lapses, and officials must strictly adhere to the prescribed rules and procedures.

Highlighting the role of EROs, AEROs, and supervisors as future master trainers for Booth Level Officers (BLOs), Buchem said they should have a clear understanding of every aspect of the revision process, as they would also be interacting with political parties, civil society organisations, community leaders, and the public.
He urged them to keep the provisions, instructions, and frequently asked questions "at their fingertips" so they can confidently address queries.
As part of the revision process, training programmes are being conducted for electoral officials, including electoral registration officers (EROs), assistant electoral registration officers (AEROs), supervisors, and BLOs, to familiarise them with the guidelines, procedures, and documentation required for the exercise.
