Dimapur, June 15 (EMN): Deputy commissioner (DC), Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, has appreciated all concerned departments for their tireless efforts in maintaining the roads and enabling it motorable as part of monsoon preparedness. He has also requested all the concerned line departments to be prepared with their roles and responsibilities as member of DDMA.
The DC stated this while addressing the members at the monthly meeting of the Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) held at its conference hall on June 15 in the presence of Dr. Nicky Kire, advisor of rural development.
The DC, who is also the DPDB vice chairman, thanked all the concerned line departments for their contributions for the successful conduct of the mass social work held on April 21.
On tree plantation drive as suggested by the chief minister to plant 48,000 tree saplings across the state, the DC informed that Kohima district would be getting 4,000 tree saplings. In this connection, he has requested all the departments to cooperate with the forest department in order to make the programme a success.
On the adoption committee for 2018-2019, the DC requested the committees to chalk out plans before the next DPDB meeting in order to execute at the earliest and to complete their activities within the time frame. He has also announced the increase amount of INR 1.5 lakh to 2 lakh each to the adoption committee as decided by the chairman DPDB, Er. Zale Neikha.
In regard to government assets data updating, the DC has asked the departments, who are yet to submit the data in respect of their department to do so at the earliest as it has to be updated annually.
The DC has also directed all members to be regular in attending the DPDB meetings saying that DPDB Forum is one of the highest decision making bodies in the district. He has asked all members to take note of its importance seriously and attend the meeting regularly. He also reminded the members that follow-up-action would be initiated to the absentees from the next DPDB meeting onwards.
The house deliberated on the agenda of recasting of LADP schemes for 12th Tseminyu AC and 15 Southern Angami II AC and decided to forward it to the government for approval.
The line departments also highlighted on the activities undertaken and other activities in regard to maintenance works under the district.
The issue of Sanuoru bridge along the secretariat road was raised by Dr. Nicky Kire in the meeting in which the concerned department’s official informed that the issue has been taken up with the concerned contractor and works is in progress.
PWD (NH) has been entrusted to present its departmental presentation in the next DPDB meeting.
