Dimapur, July 9 (EMN): The deputy commissioner, Dimapur, Anoop Khinchi has warned to close down the vegetable and fruit wholesale market at Murgipatti again if the traders do not maintain discipline.
Khinchi made this warning during his visit to the vegetable and fruit wholesale market at Murgipatti on July 8 to oversee whether the traders are maintaining the guidelines to contain the spread of the coronavirus, a DIPR report stated.
He reminded that vegetable wholesale market was shifted to Super Market for some time due to availability of space for trade and parking. However, since the traders have expressed inconvenience due to want of shed and other logistics, he stated that market was shifted to the original location at Murgipatti.
Khinchi directed the wholesalers to ensure that all labourers and customers wear masks covering the nose and mouth, maintain social distance, and to practice hand hygiene. He further asked them to keep soap and water for washing hands.
The DC also directed them for keeping more barricades for ensuring social distancing and also advised the GBs and DMC to announce the safety protocols to be maintain by every individual through megaphone every morning to the business community of Murgipatti. He has assured to arrange a megaphone from his end.
Khinchi further informed that he would come for surprise checking any day and cautioned that the market would be closed down if precautions are not taken.
The DC was accompanied by DPRO Dimapur along with her announcement team. The team made announcement at strategic locations.
