Dimapur, March 5 (EMN): With the mushrooming of several universities, colleges, and schools in Dimapur, deputy commissioner and vice chairperson of district planning and development board (DPDB), Dimapur, Kevekha Kevin Zehol, reminded the district education officer (DEO) and sub-division education officer (SDEO) to ensure imparting quality education in the educational institutions.
According a DIPR report, Zehol said this while addressing the DPDB members during its monthly meeting held on March 5 in his office’s conference hall. Speech of the deputy commissioner assumed relevant as the members have recommended opening of new schools namely Bloom Academy in Eralibil, Tuyitu Foundation School in Diphupar village, and God Will School in Nihekhu. Besides, the house recommended setting up of weekly bazaar society, Thahekhu village- Block 4, Green Ura Group in Medziphema town,
Keystone Education Society in Aoyimti village. The house also recommended proposal for registration of society for Great Commission Kids Academy in Naga United Village.
The board also decided to forward to the government with regard to the proposal for creation of new EAC administrative headquarter in Aqahuto, Dimapur.
Administrator of Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC), Moa Sangtam, while presenting the departmental activity highlighted on the project “A better Dimapur” initiated by DMC with an objective to bring a cleaner, greener and healthy Dimapur through community participation. He urged upon all the officers in Dimapur district to be a part of the project.
PWD (R&B), Er. Talitemsu, also highlighted on the status of two bridges namely Nagarjan bridge over Dhansiri River and Chathe River behind Referral hospital which are under constructions.
Urban development and district agriculture departments have been entrusted to make presentation on the ongoing activities of their respective departments in the next DPDB meeting.
