DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dimapur Dr. Tinojongshi Chang has issued a circular directing all heads of offices (HoOs) to organise and conduct a pledge against child marriage on November 27 within their respective offices and institutions.
According to a DIPR report, the initiative is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to promote a child marriage-free Indian society, supported by the government’s Just Rights for Children campaign.
The pledge ceremony will be conducted during office hours with the participation of officers and staff. Additionally, departments overseeing schools, welfare institutions, police units and community-level bodies have been asked to ensure that the pledge is administered across all subordinate institutions.

All HoOs have been instructed to submit a compliance report to the deputy commissioner’s office by November 30.
An official pledge document was enclosed with the circular, emphasising a collective commitment to make every possible effort against child marriage, ensure that no such incidents occur within families, neighbourhoods, or communities, report any attempts to the panchayat and government authorities, and actively raise voices for children’s education, safety, and the creation of a child marriage-free Bharat.
