
DIMAPUR — Public College, Dimapur, held its 39th freshers’ social function on November 5 at IMC Hall, Fellowship Colony, Dimapur, on the theme “Transformation through innovation”.
Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur, attended the programme as the chief guest, while Sashilemba Longkumer, chief manager of SBI, Dimapur Evening Branch, was the special guest.
The chief guest, in his address, advised students to take their studies seriously, emphasising that there are no shortcuts to success.
The principal of the college, Dr. AK Talukder, highlighted the courses offered as well as the college’s co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
Emphasising the programme's theme, he noted that innovation in education fosters new ways of thinking, which can enhance creativity and problem-solving skills. He urged students to learn to adapt and evolve in a changing environment, an essential skill in today’s workplace.
The programme was also attended by Dimapur Municipal Council councillor Kuhoi Zhimo, All Nagaland College Students' Union general secretary Kivinoka A Sema, Dimapur Naga Students' Union vice president R Michael Yanthan, and student leaders from different colleges in Dimapur.
