The annual games and sports meet of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Dimapur was held on March 25, with Brigadier DIG, 6 Assam Rifles, Brijesh Dhiman as the chief guest.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Brijesh stressed on the importance of games and sports as it is the factors of imparting ‘knowledge and education’ to the students, in achieving their goal. The chief guest said that, ‘education is the only way for survival and all round development’ and further urged the student’s community to produce ‘quality education’ in order to compete in various level of competitions and examinations and enabled them to pursue in higher educational status.
He also asserted that, ‘the education is an essential development’ and urged upon the students to work hard in their studies with dedication, sincerity and commitment in order to bring a laurel to the school and society at large.”
Brigadier DIG Brijesh Dhiman inspected the parade and took salute from the various march past contingent. He also gave away the prizes to the winners of the Marathon race. The tents of various houses was also inspected and interacted by the chief guest accompanied by the Principal and invitees.
Principal DBSHSS, Fr. Joshua, in his welcome address highlighted on the role of its institution and warmly welcomed the chief guest, dignitaries, parents and students on the occasion.
Some of the highlights of the programme were, drill display, Aerobics, Pyramid performed by the students and Scouts. Vote of thanks was proposed by Jiten. The programme was presided over by Chumroba and Akheli.
