Dimapur, Nov. 26 (EMN): The first “biannual session” of the Eastern Nagaland Dobashis’ Union (ENDBU) was held at CKS hall Tuensang Hq on Nov. 23 with Advisor For Prisons, Printing And Stationary, H. Haiying gracing the programme as a special guest.
Addressing the gathering, H. Haiying said that the DBs are the guardians of the society and people. While urging the dobashis to maintain and live a principled and life of integrity, Haiying called for preserving of the Naga identity for the development of the Naga people in every aspect for peace and unity.
Also speaking on the occasion, Advisor DUDA, Bongkhao stressed on the important role of DBs and encouraged the DBs to abide by the rules of law and strengthen the law and order for the peaceful environment in the regions.
In the second session, the deputy commissioner of Tuensang, L. Jamithung Lotha, spoke on the topic ‘paradigm shift in the role of Dobashis’ with special reference to the judicial intervention’. Others who spoke at the programme were president of ENPO, T. Kekongchim, president CKS Ningsanglemba and president ENGBF Chuba Konyak. The keynote address was delivered by the president of ENDBU, R. Muthsodang.
During the programme, the Khiamniungan DBs presented a folk song. Besides, a special number was presented by the Mon district DBs and also the DBs Tamlu sub- division Longleng.
