THENYIZU — Commissioner & Secretary for Women Resources Development, Zhothisa Dawhuo, on Tuesday called upon the youth to think beyond salaried employment, stressing society's need for entrepreneurs and business-minded individuals.
He was addressing the Thenyizumi Kezonuomi Thenu Kehou programme held at local ground, Thenyizu village in Phek district.
Highlighting that the national highway is now passing through the village, Dawhuo said that with improved road infrastructure there are new opportunities viable for earning livelihoods. He stressed the need to learn business skills and make use of available opportunities.

The official emphasised that there are multiple ways to earn a livelihood if people are willing to learn, work hard, and support one another for the collective growth of society and the village.
Dawhuo also advised students to give their best in their studies, reminding them that parents have already made significant sacrifices for their children’s education.
He cautioned against laziness, stating that hard work is always rewarded in the end, and encouraged students to complete their education so that their parents could rest with pride in their achievements.
Dawhuo urged clan members to strengthen coordination and cultivate affection towards one another in order to progress as a community. He said that love is the foundation of peaceful coexistence and development within the clan, adding that without love and affection, conflicts and divisions are inevitable.
The speaker called upon the gathering to uphold affection as a shared commitment, stressing that true unity can only be achieved when people consciously choose to care for and support one another, so that collectively, society will grow.
Further, he underscored the importance of good character and habits, while encouraging the community to spread love in both words and action.
Genuine affection and mutual support are essential for unity, progress, and continued growth, he added.
Remarks on behalf of the Kezonuo clan were delivered by Nechuyi Dawhuo, followed by a brief history presented by Cusazo Dawhuo. A short speech was delivered by Kropayi Dawhuo, entrepreneur, and the treasurer’s report was presented by Puthiyi Kezo.
The programme was chaired by Besuhu Dawhuo, while the invocation was pronounced by C Kroso Kezo, pastor of TBC. Senior citizens and outstanding achievers were also recognised during the programme.
Zhothiyi Dawhuo, former Thenyizu VCC, was elected to lead the new tenure as Kezonuo clan chairman for tenure 2026–2030.
