Dawhuo to compete with Chin wrestlers in the US

KOHIMA: Reigning champion of Nagaland Wrestling Association, Venuzo Dawhuo, will be competing with the best of Chin wrestlers on July 3 in Bloomington, Indianapolis, USA, on invitation of Chin Youth Organization North America (CYONA).

This was informed by the Chakhesang Wrestling Association (CWA) under whose aegis the wrestler from Thenyizumi village will be leaving for the US.

Manager and coach, Vekhozo, who is also the president of CWA said, "He (Venuzo) is also expected to have challengers either July 7 or 8  with the likes of Rung Lian Ceu, Biak etc. though the date is yet to be confirmed."

The duo will leave Kohima on June 27 and then take a flight to Chicago from New Delhi.

"We expect the initiative will open the door for other upcoming wrestlers to expose themselves to international communities," said Vekhozo.

Meanwhile, the CWA on behalf of the Chakhesang community extended best wishes to the duo.
