DAVP’s Photo Exhibition on Swami Vivekananda held

NNN SHILLONG, May 30 A photo exhibition on the life and works of Swami Vivekananda was inaugurated on Friday by the Secretary of Ramkrishna Mission, Swami Achyuteshananda at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Quinton Road, Shillong.Swami Vedasarananda, Assistant Secretary and Manikant Thakur, Assistant Director, Regional Office, DAVP, Guwahati, Salman Haider, Field Exhibition Officer, DAVP, Shillong and teachers and staff of the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre were also present on the occasion. The Photo Exhibition has been put up by the Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity, Field Exhibition office, Shillong. The theme encompasses the whole life of the great youth icon of the nation. Some rare photographs of his early days, world tour and address to famous Chicago World Religion Congress have been displayed apart from the texts related to his sayings and quotations and views of great men about Swami Vivekanada. Salman Haider, FEO, DAVP informed that the exhibition will continue to remain open for general public tillJune 2, 2015 from 11 am to 5 pm.
