Dimapur, July 27 (EMN): Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Mon, Hiazu Meru called upon every section of the society to put in collective efforts to prevent further spread of HIV and create an enabling environment for those affected with the disease to access treatment services to live a healthy life.
Meru stated this during the second quarterly meeting of the District AIDS Prevention and Control Committee (DAPCC) held on July 26 at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner, Mon.
In his brief keynote address, Meru acknowledged the valuable services rendered towards prevention and care of HIV and drug addiction in the district through DAPCU (NSACS). Mentioning that HIV and drug addiction has no boundary, he called upon every section in the society to understand the reality and take the responsibility in creating awareness about the disease.
Longyim Tzudir, District Programme Officer, DAPCU Mon, while presenting the facility-wise performance of all programme components implementing in Mon district, thanked DAPCC members for their valued and constant support.
The members discussed on need of organising awareness programmes on HIV with the students, police, and church leaders.
