An awareness programme on Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS) was organised by the Department of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Peren, on June 12.
Joint secretary of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Temsunaro, Jalukie branch managers of SBI and Co-operative Bank, chief veterinary officer Peren Dr. Bemmeren, officers, staff and 65 dairy farmers attended the programme.
Briefing on the scheme, the joint secretary stated that the scheme provides 33.33% back ended subsidy with a loan component payable within 2-3 years. She also said that 10% of the project cost has to be borne by the farmer.
The additional director highlighted on the importance of livestock insurance and artificial insemination. He also stated that Artificial Insemination Centre would be setup at Jalukie very soon. Further, briefing on the loan was made by the Branch Manager of SBI and Co-operative bank Jalukie respectively. The programme concluded with the vote of thank delivered by Dr. Namsui Thou, Deputy Director, Jalukie.
