Dimapur, Aug. 22 (EMN): Rakshit Tandon, who is popularly known as ‘cyber security evangelist,’ advised students to be careful about online chatting, posting and forwarding of photos and feeds in social media.
Tandon spoke on the advantages and proper usage of internet, safe surfing and online gaming, cyber hygiene, netiquettes, implications of flouting cyber laws. He said crimes according to cyber laws included creating fake account, cyber bullying and online sexual abuses.
While relating his personal experiences with young people confronting with cyber crime across the country, Tandon cautioned the parents against providing mobile phones to children below 13 years.
Rakshit Tandon is an ethical hacker, microsoft certified professional, computer forensic expert, advisor, trainer, member and consultant of various police academy and state police forces of India.
Keeping in mind the threat of social media and cyber for children in digital world which has become a reality, the parents, teachers, and students of Pilgrim Higher Secondary School at Kuda B in Dimapur, were sensitised on the benefit and harmful effect of social media, an update from the school stated.
The programme was jointly organised by the Pilgrim Higher Secondary School and the Harper Collins Publication on Aug. 22
