Dimapur, August 26: The foundation stone for the Chakhesang Women Society Kohima’s (CWSK) Tribal Women’s Hostel Building was laid on August 24 by Neiba Kronu, Parliamentary Secretary of Planning, Monitoring and Taxes at the CWSK’s plot near Guwahati High Court, Kohima Bench, New Ministers’ Hill, Kohima.
Mrs. Neikhwepeu Khalo, President CWSK, chaired the programme, and Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, Senior Pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill, said the dedicatory prayer.
In her introduction, CWSK president informed that with about 5000+ Chakhesang women residing in Kohima, the Society felt it as an urgent need to cater to the needs of young girls who come to Kohima from villages in pursuit of higher studies and jobs. Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao pointed out that through this project, our unity is strengthened and that all should join hands and support one another.
In his brief speech, the Parliamentary Secretary, Neiba Kronu, encouraged the women and expressed his support for the CWSK’s hostel project. He said women are more efficient when it comes to getting things done and more judicious in utilization of funds. He further expressed hope that women would excel in the projects that are currently in the pipeline for them.
