Mokokchung, Dec. 9 (EMN): Chuchuyimlang Village Council (CVC) and the Chuchuyimlang Baptist Church (CBC) have announced plans to launch a joint venture project to facilitate educated aspirants in entrepreneurship projects. This was announced by CVC chairman, Ao Sanen Pongen, and CBC pastor, Rev. T Lima, on the sidelines during a seminar.
In preparation for the joint venture project between the church and the village council, Chuchuyimlang Kaketshir Telongjem (Chuchuyimlang Students’ Union) Educational Trust organised a seminar for educated unemployed youth on December 9 at Imlang Salang in Chuchuyimlang village on the theme “Owning our future.”
While highlighting the objectives of the seminar, CVC chairman said, “If we look into the reality of the world today, government jobs have become scarce besides. The number of educated unemployed youth in our society is increasing and to accommodate them the state does not have industries and large companies.”
As everybody wanted government jobs whereas the government sector has reached a saturation point where they plan to remove the excess appointments, the chairman stated that accommodating the educated unemployed has become a huge concern today.
In this regard, he stated that CVC and CBC have come up with a joint venture project to give opportunity to the educated unemployed youth by means of livelihood entrepreneurship. Pongen said, “We want our educated unemployed youth to sustain and depend on themselves without depending on the government and private companies.”
He informed that seminars would be conducted covering vast arrays of topics. He further stated that as facilitators, CVC and CBC would sponsor various entrepreneurship projects proposed by educated aspirants in their flight to an entrepreneurial venture.
Also speaking at the programme, CBC pastor expressed hope that the joint venture would uplift the young aspirants both financially and spiritually along with a great expectation that would benefit them and the society to a large extent.
Resource person and vice chairman of Marcofed Ltd and managing trustee of Nagaland Gandhi Ashram, Chuchuyimlang, Dr Aotoshi said, “We have to start producing ourselves and introduce entrepreneurship culture in our DNA, if we want to compete with the rest of the world without begging from others. To become a successful entrepreneur, he stated one should have the courage to take risks, quality of trustworthiness, persistence, integrity, hard work and determination.
The resource person also advised the participants to design their entrepreneurship projects by giving more focus on locally available resources and innovating the local technology and utilising the financial resources in need to get away from debt traps.
Stating that daydreaming would not produce entrepreneurs, Aotoshi also suggested the organisers set up a panel of mentors from financing to business management to guide the educated aspirants in project management and establishing marketing chains.
The other resource person and chairman of Marcofed Ltd, Dr. M Chuba Ao spoke on entrepreneurship- government/ institutions schemes and support. The participants were educated unemployed youth, church members, village council members, VDB members and VDVK Chuchuyimlang.
