District Customary Court at Peren District Headquarters was inaugurated on December 4 by Deputy Commissioner, Peren, Peter Lichamo, as the chief guest.
Speaking after the formal inauguration of the Customary Court, the chief guest impressed that the court should be respected and honoured because it concern us all. He also made a point clear that DBs should be well versed in the laws and customs of the land and update themselves with legal matters in relation to the practices and functioning of a judiciary system among others.
He further called upon the DBs of the district to be united for an effective and a dignified body.
The programme was chaired by Kurangbe, president PDDA, and short speech was delivered by Namtsi Zeliang, District Head DB.
