- CHIEPHOBOZOU — The
two-day 6th inter-ward tournament of Chiephobozou town culminated on Saturday
with chairperson of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Neikhozo Suokhrie,
attending the closing ceremony as the guest of honour at Chiephobozou local
ground.
- Addressing the event, Suokhrie said sports unite people and
added that where there is unity, there is development, and vice versa.
- Observing that Chiephobozou town has been in existence for
more than 50 years, he said the town is strategically located on the highway
with ample land for further development.
- He also shared that Northern Angami-II Assembly Constituency
is fortunate to have its legislator in the person of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio
and that much development is taking place in the state under his leadership.
- The KMC chairperson went on to state that the state capital
Kohima is ever-expanding with different communities inhabiting the city.
Likewise, Chiephobozou town is also seeing a gradual increase in people from
diverse sections of society.
- Suokhrie further appreciated the Chiephobozou Town Youth
Organisation (CTYO) for organising the tournament to encourage the youth.
- Vitso Rio, KMC government nominee member, expressed the hope
that such sporting events would positively bring people together and carry
forward the community.
- He also expressed delight that the CTYO has, for the first
time, organised the Lt. Neichutuo Rio Memorial Trophy, stating that Rio was
from Touphema village who migrated and settled in Chiephobozou town.
