Dimapur, Sep. 19 (EMN): The 51st annual freshers-cum-Nagas’ meet of the Naga Students’ Union Bangalore (NSUB) with the theme ‘Becoming the change’ was conducted successfully on September 17 at India Campus Crusade for Christ, Bangalore.
NSUB in an update informed that the event was attended by more than 700 Nagas residing in and around Bangalore, making it one of the biggest freshers meets in the history of NSUB.
The first session commenced with a folk dance presented by the Tangkhul Naga Welfare Society, Bangalore, followed by invocation prayer by pastor, Naga Christian Fellowship, Bangalore, Nikato Yeptho.
President of NSUB, D Thopulou, in his welcome speech expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the sub-units of NSUB for their relentless support and also acknowledged the foundation laid down by the former leaders.
Executive director of BR Innovations Pvt. Ltd., and proprietor of BNS Enterprises, Bendang Yanger, graced the event as the chief guest, while senior manager – HR Operations HCL Technologies, Neite Kapfo, and assistant vice president and head of financial analytics, MBB Labs – Maybank, Vijay Joseph Kapanee, were the guests of honour.
Around 100 freshers were present and a blessing prayer for the freshers was led by Rev. Yarngam Muivah, pastor of Tangkhul Baptist Church Bangalore.
Jeviholi Swu, who spoke on behalf of the freshers thanked the family of NSUB and urged the freshers to stay connected with the family and give their best in whatever they do.
Naga students studying in different institutions in the city presented group songs and folk songs and dances were also performed by sub-units of the NSUB, it stated.
In the second session, the titles of Mr and Miss Freshers were bagged by Elow Kayina and Aileen Samjaila respectively.
The event concluded with a closing prayer by Levi Maheo, pastor of Mao Fellowship Bangalore.
Meanwhile, NSUB along with all its sub-units expressed gratitude to all the Nagas in the city for coming together as one on the joyous occasion.
