Dimapur, Dec. 28 (EMN): The 28th general session of the Chozuba Town Chakhesang Students’ Union (CTCSU) was held on December 22 at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall with Vekhozo Ringa, State Coordinator of SSA Nagaland, as the special guest and Dr. Khangaka Keyho, Research Scholar of JNU (Delhi), as the session speaker on the theme “Explore the possibilities.”
Speaking on the occasion, Ringa has stressed on hard work to achieve. Stating that there is no short-cut to success, he said it is by ‘trying’ that they could know their potentials and capabilities.
Stating that ‘ego’ is accountable for breaking up the societies, churches and communities, he questioned the students to make an assessment as to whether they are liabilities or assets to the society. He remarked that it is not the illiterate and uneducated people, which is responsible for division in the society.
Challenging the students community by citing an old adage “Students are the leaders of tomorrow,” he said students should become leaders now and not only for the future. “If at all we can change the society for a better future, it is ‘We’, who can make it achievable,” Ringa stated.
Session speaker, Keyho, emphasised on the need to bridge the gap of spiritual education. “In the course of pursing secular education, we tend to create the gap in our relationship with God. We are living as a hypocrite, consciously or unconsciously in the face of the public life,” Keyho said.
He said corruption, dishonesty and all other forms of injustices do not start at sudden but is rooted from childhood when the foundational education is being inculcated to the children. According to him God is the essence of all sciences, religions and all other aspects of life.
In his presidential address, Mhakhoyi Nyekha challenged the students to dare dreaming of what might seem impossible. He encouraged them to dream big and achieve the best which is “Excellence.” He stated that excellence is an internally driven force manifested in attitudes, which relies on commitment and hard work.
He further called upon the students to work together, refine and define the meaning of ‘Excellence’ and achieve the dreams which many would dare to dream of.
The release of the yearly bulletin “The Insight” and folk tune presented by the Women Welfare Society Chozuba Town were other highlights of the day.
