Mokokchung, Feb. 9 (EMN): Clark Theological College (CTC) in Mokokchung launched a professorial lecture series for the faculty of the college at the multi-purpose hall of the college on February 8.
The professorial lecture series was launched to provide a platform to showcase and celebrate the college's new professors. Each professor delivered two professorial lectures as mandatory for promotion to the rank of full professor.
Professorial lecture represented a significant milestone in an academic career and an opportunity for each professor to present an overview of their academic contributions so far and their future academic plans, while also introducing their work to a wider academic audience.
This year, two faculty members namely Dr. A Temjen Jamir from the Communication department and Dr. K Dhanbir Rai from the Religions department delivered professorial lectures.
Dr. Temjen Jamir delivered two lectures on the topic “Dancing as creative communication: An exploration of the biblical and theological understanding of dance in Christian worship” and “Communicating holistic development among the people with special reference to North-East India.”
Dr. Dhanbir Rai delivered lectures on “Dancing into the future: Striving to establish Rai identity through Sakela Sili” and “Modern trendsetters of yoga in correlation to Patanjali yoga.”
The final remarks, conferring of professorship and declaration to the rank of full professor, were pronounced by Dr. Sashikaba, professor of Religions at Eastern Theological College and Dr. L Imsutoshi Jamir, professor of Communication at Clark Theological College.
Rev. Dr. A Temjen Jamir is the current principal of the college and Rev. Dr. K Dhanbir Rai is the current dean of postgraduate studies.
The whole programme was moderated by the academic dean, Rev. Dr. A Tali Ao.
Meanwhile, the Clark community congratulated both Prof. A Temjen Jamir and Prof. K Dhanbir Rai on their promotion to the rank of full professor and wished them God’s blessings.
It may be mentioned here that Clark Theological College offers diploma in church music ministry, bachelor of divinity, master of theology in the branches of Christian theology, Christian ethics, Christian counseling, Christian education, communication, doctoral research in the department of Communication. From this year, the college is offering Master of Theology in both Old and New Testament.
