Dimapur, August 31 (EMN): In pursuance to Government order, regarding encroachment of footpaths/side-walks or the areas reserved for such public facilities under Chumukedima Town Council areas, EAC &Administrator of Chumukedima Town Council, Thejavizo Nakhro has reminded the general public the demarcated/notified areas reserved for public road including areas for drainages, footpaths, electric posts, water pipelines, OFC cables, etc., as resolved by Chumukedima Village Council in the year 1969, 1974, 1995 and Chumukedima Town Council Notification dated the 01/07/2006 and dated 10/05/2011 as below;
Area beside National Highway to maintain 45 feet from the middle of the road on both sides (i.e. total 90 feet).
Main Town Roads to maintain 20 feet from the middle of the road on both sides (i.e. total 40 feet)
National Highway – Seiruzha colony – Chumukedima village
National Highway – North Town School – Towards Khuova River
Approach roads under Chumukedima Town Council to maintain 15 feet from the middle of the road on both sides (i.e. total 30 feet).
National Highway– North Town School– Agape School – National Highway
National Highway – Sabalie Colony – Chumukedima Village
National Highway – Police School Road –ward 5 – ward 9

Approach Roads under Chumukedima Town Council to maintain 10 feet from the middle of the road on both sides (i.e. total 20 feet).

All ward/colony single lanes to maintain 6 feet from the middle of the road on both sides (i.e. total 12 feet).
Colony roads not mentioned above are to maintain at least 20 feet in breadth (i.e., 10 feet from the middle of the road on each side).
The provision of space for common public infrastructures as mentioned above were originally reserved by the Chumukedima Village authority when the present town was a village and subsequently by the Chumukedima Town Council with a vision to ensure better quality of life to all its residents.
The public of Chumukedima Town Council areas are also informed to abide with and maintain the demarcation as mentioned above. Defaulters/encroachers of public roads, footpaths, drainages, etc., shall be doing so at their own risk of loss of property/land/investment. Any resident/person/agency encroaching notified areas are liable for forceful eviction/demolition as provided by Law.
