Wrestling event to be introduced as a compulsory event in educational institution
Dimapur, August 28 (EMN): The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU), in accordance with the resolution adopted in its 3rd Union Assembly to introduce Naga Style Wrestling as a compulsory event in all the educational Institution under its jurisdiction during its Sports Week/Day with a motive to promote and preserve the age-old traditional games and encourage the talented and professional students’ as well, held its Naga Style Wrestling Championship on August 26 at Baptist Theological College, Pfutsero Auditorium with Neivikuolie Khatsü, President, Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) as the special guest while Kesosul Christopher Ltu, President, Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and Kekhwengulo Lea, President, Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) as the special invitee and valedictory guest respectively.
The championship was organised in three categories viz; Category ‘A’ College Section, Category ‘B’ Higher Secondary Section and Category ‘C’ High School Section. Cash Prizes along with the proficiency Certificates were awarded to all the 4 winners in each categories
Altogether 105 students from the three category participated in the day long championship.
It was also stated that, thereafter wrestling event will be a compulsory event during an institutions' sports day/week under the CSU jurisdiction.
