Kohima, August 19 (EMN): The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) is all set to launch the introduction of wrestling as compulsory game in all the educational institutions under its jurisdiction on August 26 at Pfutsero under Phek district.
Nagaland Wrestling Association (NWA) president Neivikuolie Khatsu will be the special guest while Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) president Kekhwengulo Lea will be the valedictory guest and Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) president Kesosul Christopher Ltu as special invitee.
The main objective of the launching of wrestling in educational institution is to encourage and support those interested students individual to choose this profession as their career so also to protect and promote our traditional game.
The Union is confident that under the initiative of NWA, WFI and other like minded organization this game will be very soon introduce even in the Olympic as in the name of Belt Wrestling.
The Union want to encourage it's student to take up this profession which will also help give opportunity to the youth to explore their talents and that it may help the state to eradicate the unemployment problem too. The young generation should not only focus on Govt.job alone but should venture out and seek different ways and means to choose a career since there are so many avenue which we are yet to explore, stated CSU president Dode Nakro.
The wrestling will be played in 3 categories. Group A (College), Group B (Higher Secondary) and Group C (High School).
All the educational institutions have been asked to send maximum number of five participants in each category.
Any bonafide CSU member (s) studying outside Chakhesang jurisdiction aspiring to participate have been asked to submit a photo copy of birth certificate, school college ID card, 2 passports and authorization letter from their respective unit presidents.
