Dimapur, May 18 : The Chizami Range Public Organization (CRPO) has called an indefinite bandh from midnight of May 23 within its jurisdiction to express resentment at government’s apathy over the continual breakdown of IMVA-33/11 KV power transformer at Chizami under Phek district and non-replacement with new transformer.
The CRPO in a press statement pointed out that last break-down which occurred on May 1 was the fifth collapse within a span of eight months and despite appeal for replacement, the department did not reciprocate showing its lack of concern.
In this regard, the CRPO during its emergency meeting held on May 18 reaffirmed to impose indefinite bandh along NH 29 as resolved earlier since the department failed to respond to the ultimatum served by the Range.
The organization however said that medical, police, fire-brigade and paramilitary will be exempted from the purview of the bandh. The bandh will be lifted depending on the execution of its demand by concerned department. The general publics have been requested to bear with the inconvenience and extend co-operation during the bandh period.
