Dimapur, Nov. 2 (EMN): Normal life was affected along Chakhabama – Zunheboto Highway and Kohima – Chozuba via Kijumetuoma - Khusomi village following bandh called by Chozuba Range Taxi and Truck Union (CRTTU) from October 30 to November 1.
The bandh was called by Chozuba Range Taxi and Truck Union against the alleged failure of the State government to maintain the road for several years. The union has also threatened to impose total bandh if the government fails to address the road condition within 20 days with effect from November 2.
Hundred of taxis and trucks stayed off the road in protest against the pathetic road condition which passed off peacefully without any untoward incident.
In view the development, president of Chozuba Range Public Organisation (CRPO) Puyoi Nyekha and the general secretary, Vesupra Luruo, have requested the concerned authority to look into the matter on priority in order to lift the bandh.
It further warned that the organisation would not be held responsible in the event of any untoward incidents arising out of the issue.
