One detained for sale of counterfeit cosmetics
Basing on complaint received at police station regarding sale of bogus and counterfeit cosmetics products at Binit Store located at F1/5 New Market, Dimapur police conducted reportedly raided the shop and seized 462 Nivea lip care and 59 fruity shine (duplicate). Accordingly, one person namely Sanjeet Chaudhury, son of Amar Nath Chaudhury of Lavapur Anrayan village, Mohanar, Vaishali (Bihar) presently residing at Midland colony, Dimapur was arrested and case has been registered at East PS for further investigation.
Two held for collecting illegal taxes
Dimapur Police Crime Branch (CID) on Nov. 11 arrested two persons namely Kabir Ahmed, ‘SS Rajapeu NSCN (IM)’ son of Md Aklasur Rahman of Kanhai Bazar village, Karimganj Assam, presently resident of Dimapur Court and Charali Nazmul Islam, son of Abdul Noin, of Daya Pasna village, Karimganj Assam, currently resident at Naga Bazar, Dimapur for collecting illegal taxes in the name of NSCN (IM) from trucker near Dimapur Railway siding area.
According to additional deputy commissioner of Police, one .32 pistol, five.32 live rounds, 2580 of Spasmo Proxyvon capsules, and duplicate receipt booklet were recovered from their possession. A case has been registered at GRPS for further investigation.
One arrested for stealing auto-rickshaw
One person namely Laventhung Lotha, son of Y Mosah Lotha of Phiro village, Wokha presently residing at 1st Gate Chumukedima is said to have been arrested for trying to stealing an auto-rickshaw from Walford area, Dimapur on Nov. 10. A case has been registered at East PS for further investigation.
Three apprehended with contraband
Dimapur Police manning Chumukedima check gate, on Nov. 7 is said to have intercepted one vehicle (Gypsy) and recovered 160 kg (approx) of contraband ganja. In this connection one person namely Aba Tetseo, son of Hunetsu of Luzaphuhu village, Phek has been arrested. Accordingly, a case has been registered at Chumukedima PS for further investigation.
On Nov. 8, during the joint operation by Dimapur police Special Branch team at Chumukedima check gate, it was reported that one vehicle (Tata Indica) B/Regd. No. ASIT 9456 tried to flee from the checking duty party.
After a hot chase the vehicle was intercepted at 6th Mile Dimapur and on checking, 90 Kg (approx) of contraband Ganja was recovered, the release informed.
In this connection, the driver of the vehicle namely Lolly Kape, son of Niponi Kape, of Topopfu village, Senapati (Manipur) was arrested and a case was registered at Chumukedima PS for investigation.
On Nov. 13 Dimapur Police manning at Chumukedima check gate recovered 30 Kg (approx) of contraband ganja from one Lonyi Anele Mero wife of Kuzuve of Pfutseromi village, Phek. Accordingly, she was arrested and a case has been registered at Women PS for further investigation.
AR nabs one cadre
Basing on specific input about the presence of FGN cadre, 9 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) launched and operation in Kami road junction of Pfutsero sub-division on Nov. 18.
During the operation troops of Assam Rifles apprehended one FGN cadre identified as Mesengulo Wetsah son of Zhiethsunyi of Zapami village. As per the release one 7.62 MM Rifle and one magazine with five live rounds were recovered from his possession. Subsequently, the accused has been handed over to Pfutsero Police Station for further investigation.
