DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 27
Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee ( NPCC) President K. Therie said that today, the nation is divided between communalism and secularism and that the nation’s economy is crumbling while its credibility is diminishing.
He said this while speaking at the last leg of ‘Mass Contact Tour’ of NPCC at at Congress Bhavan Dimapur on Saturday.
“After Modi toured 37 countries in 22 months, foreign investment has dropped down by 75% during 2015 comparing to the previous year. BJP is in descending trend in both politics and economy”, K Therie said and attributed this as the reason why there is no money circulation in the whole nation.
Therie said that like the BJP party being divided in the nation, the failures of the NPF are compounded with bitter divisions in the state. Saying that the NPF has no policy for the people, he criticized the NPF Government for its failure to provide safety and security to life and property of the public, failure to deliver welfare schemes, check corruption, provide roads, power, economic sustenance, etc. Therie however said that one sure policy of the NPF is onetime payment for votes and thereafter robbing the state exchequer for five years.
On the defection of 8 MLAs, he said that defectors are called traitors by nations and called for the people to elect god-fearing leaders who will uphold the party principles and the peoples’ mandate through thick and thin and provide clean governance. He also urged party workers to always keep open the doors and minds of the party for the people, to earn their support and maintain contact with the masses. He said that given the opportunity, the Congress will provide safety and security to the people, deliver welfare schemes, MGNREGA, PDS and ICDS benefits, old-age pensions, cashless health cards to all, roads, uninterrupted power supply, drinking water, one classroom across the state, job oriented departmental projects, peaceful business, etc and urged the party workers to tell the people of the party’s commitments and programmes spelt out in the Roadmaps.
Affirming that the wish of the people will be the wish of the party, Therie urged the Dimapur ACCs to plan and prepare the district to face the challenges of future growth and to assure the Roadmap commitments in 100% to the people, if voted to power.
In conclusion, the house passed a resolution to stand together and cooperate with the police and administration to protect life and property of the people and also to urge the Administration, Police and Judiciary to deliver justice without delay to stop recurrences.
