Dimapur, Dec. 22 (EMN): A three-day general convention of the Council of Rengma Baptist Churches (CRBC) hosted by the Tesophenyu Lorinyu Baptist Church (TLBC) concluded on December 22.
The three-day programme was conducted with the theme “Let us rebuild, word and prayer” (Nehemiah 2: 17-18).
Kethoser Anieu Kevichusa from RZIM ministry was the main speaker of the event. He spoke on the topic “Let us rebuild: Towards a kingdom culture,” an update from the organisers stated on Sunday.
A workshop was also conducted separately for men, women and youth group. The resource persons were Rev. Dr. Phanenmo Kath, Nyurhünle Ruby Kent and Jonathan Mesen. The evening youth celebration programme featured the musical band ‘Divine Connection’ besides performances by various participants. This was stated in a press release issued Dr. Gwathonlo Tsela, CRBC media convenor.
In the hymnal competition, T Zisunyu Baptist Church, Rengma Baptist Church Kohima and Ziphenyu Baptist bagged the first, second and third positions respectively. In the Bible recitation competition, Tseminyu Town Baptist Church, Tseminyu Village Baptist Church and Ziphenyu Baptist Church were declared the first, second and third winners respectively.
In the Bible quiz competition, the first prize was jointly won by T Zisunyu Baptist Church and Rengma Gaon Baptist Church, while the second and third prizes were won by Phenshunyu Baptist Church and host Tesophenyu Lorinyu Baptist Church respectively.
On the concluding day of the convention Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho of the NBCC general secretary, was the main speaker in the morning devotional service. He spoke on ‘Let us rebuild: towards a transformed community,’ In the evening service, Dr. Joshua Lorin, principle of OTS, spoke on rebuilding towards a corporate commitment.
Altogether, 42 pastors under CRBC attended the convention.
