Dimapur, Dec. 14 (EMN): Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) has expressed displeasure over the delay in construction of 2 lanning road namely Chakhabama-Zunheboto via Chozuba sub-division and Pfutsero-Phek for reason related to compensation.
CPO general secretary, Mutsivoyi Kotso, stated that the organisation in its executive council emergency meeting held on December 5 in Pfutsero had unanimously adopted some resolutions for pursuance and implementation. It has also sought public support and cooperation in the larger interest of the community.
It resolved that under no situation would CPO allow the construction and completion of 2 lanning road in the district to be blocked or abandoned because of any individual or group whatsoever. CPO also endorsed the decision of the district administration and concerned department to undertake the re-verification of the affected areas under public protest. The meeting resolved to press upon the district administration and concerned department to initiate the exercise with immediate effect and also release the revised compensation at the earliest in order to enable the working agency to start the work immediately.
CPO further resolved to stand by the notification issued by the deputy commissioner, Phek, that new structure or under construction along the mentioned stretch of road post July would not be taken up for compensation.
The executive council has authorised the office of CPO to appoint a high level committee on 2 lanning road in Phek district which would coordinate with the district administration, concerned department and agency. The CPO also appealed all its units to ensure reasonable settlement of compensation and hassle free timely construction of the project.
