Dimapur, March 4 (EMN): Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) has extended its appreciation to all the citizens of Chakhroma, for extending their full cooperation in support of the recently concluded bandh called by JCC and NTAC under its jurisdiction. In a press note issued by CPO president Vichütuolie Mere and general secretary Zakievisie Kruse, stated that had the state government kept its word on the agreement made on January 30 at Chumukedima, we might not have lost the lives of the two beloved youths and bandh could have been avoided. But, it said it was very unfortunate that the state government could not keep its commitment, as a result the public movement took another turn. During such time, regardless of tribes, sex or community, CPO is overwhelmed by the response of the citizens under its jurisdiction which has proved that, “the voice of the people has more power than the people who are in power”. It implored God’s blessing to all who have rendered its supports to this public movement. Further, CPO hopes that the present government would not oversight the views of the people, who are the main stakeholders, in amendment of the Nagaland Municipal Act of 2001, in future.
