Mokokchung, Jan. 14 (EMN): An awareness training-cum-sensitisation programme on Covid-19 for the Home Guards, Women Home Guards and State Disaster Response Force personnel from the district establishment was held at the conference hall of the chief medical officer’s (CMO) office, Mokokchung, from January 11 to the 13th.
During a brief programme held on the first day, Dr. Kibangkumba, deputy CMO, Mokokchung, welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of the training.
As part of the frontline workers, they were made to understand the need to be prepared for any situation arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic and to stay safe from the disease to protect the population at large, an update from the CMO office stated.
Topics on hand washing, handling of dead bodies, preventive measures, rational use of PPE, demonstration on donning/ doffing of PPE (gloves, mask, full PPE etc), infection control, preparation of bleach solution (Sodium Hypochloride) and laundry were imparted by resource persons namely Dr. Aonungdok, MMBS, PGDPHM, MPH (Epidemiology and Health Systems); Dr. Tsipongchem Sangtam, MD (Pathology); Dr. Akumtemjen, district Epidemiologist; and Dr. Tiasunep.
It stated that a total of 51 participants attended the three-day programme in three batches from the district establishment of HGs, CD & SDRF, Mokokchung. All SOPs/ guidelines on Covid-19 issued by the government were strictly observed, it added.
